Welcome, Sawyer!

Hi, this is Stacy and Eddie's friend Sarah. We got to meet the newest member of the Smith brood today and thought we'd share some pictures of the newest Smith with you!

Sawyer Dennis Smith was born yesterday, June 10, at 1:30 p.m. He weighed 9 lb. 2 oz. and is 20 inches long. Stacy and Eddie are doing well and Alison is happy to be a big sister! So far, he's quite a good eater and pooper and is as cute as a button, just like his older sister.

Below are some pictures of Sawyer, and also some newborn pictures of Alison for comparison. We met Alison the day she was born and weren't able to meet Sawyer until today, so he's less swollen than Alison but we think they still look quite a bit alike!

We went back for our weekly visit to the doctor and since last week they determined that he was on the big side and I had an elevated level of fluid we got to have another ultrasound this week. The fluid level was lower and the baby is doing great so from now on we just have to have our normal appointments, Yeah! although it was nice to get to see him in the extra ultrasounds. The doctors are predicting that if I go to my due date (June 21) he will weigh approx 9.5 lbs. Not so so bad I guess. We'll see. Anyways here are some great 3D pictures of his face that we got yesterday. He's so cute We can't wait to meet him!

Our Growing Boy

So I went for my weekly Dr. appointment wednesday and my doctor looked at me and said "wow, I can't believe that that baby is going to stay in there for another 3.5 weeks" so she measured my belly and I measured 39 weeks, so she sent me for an ultrasound to see how big the baby was and to check my fluid levels. with the results of a baby the weighs 7lbs 15oz and an elevated level of fluid, which is not uncommon with a big baby. So since babies are supposed to gain .5 - 1lb a week we are looking at a 10 - 11lb baby. ouch! One good thing out of all this is that I do get to have an ultrasound ever week and see him, that's always so fun. Anyways here are some pictures of our big boy.

This was really neat. The lady switched it to 3D and was able to get a shot of his chubby feet with his little hand down there too. She tried to get his face but there was too much in the way. Maybe next time.
