The past 2 weekends full of fun!

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. We have been really busy these past couple of weekends. So I'll catch you up.
The weekend of the 11-13
My Mom and Jim decided to attend a Motorcycle meeting in Vermont to close their vacation, so Anna stayed with us in the Boro. Friday after work I stopped home and picked up Anna and headed to Doles Orchard to do some strawberry picking. Alison really enjoyed picking one for the bucket and then one for herself. It was a beautiful evening and a great way to start the weekend. Saturday we headed out early to a Birthday party for Alison's friend Braydon. He goes to daycare with Alison and we know them through the Plummer's. They had a "beach" party at a lake in New Gloucester. It turned out to be a great day weather wise and Alison enjoyed playing in the water and the boat, but toward the end of the party Alison started to feel warm (fever wise), so we headed home. And sure enough we got home and her fever was 103.7, so we hung out at home for the rest of the day, hopeing that it would break over night and she would feel better the next day, but no such luck. She had a fever the next 3 days and after going to the doctors on Monday found out that is was because she had another virus and it was causing ulsers in her throat. Ouch, poor kid. Lucky we had Sue to watch Alison since Daycare was closed for a week so she was able to get some extra loving to help her through it. Also during her week with Grammie, Alison made huge progress with potty training, Hope this lasts. Here are some pictures of this weekend.

The weekend of the 18-20
Saturday we headed to our long lost Plummer's house. The summer's are so busy we hardly get to see them so this weekend was nice to catch up with them. After kind of a crazy morning we headed to a festival in Westbrook with the girls while the guys finished up a round of golf for their long a waited father's day present. The festival was nice the girls enjoyed making rain sticks, fish prints, dancing to the live music, and a little lunch in the shade. The girls started to fade fast so we headed back to the plummer's for a nap and some playtime. After naps Eddie Alison and I headed to a Portland Seadogs Baseball game. Alison really enjoyed seeing Slugger the mascot and eating a "Seadogs Biscuit" which is vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate cookies, yummy. Sunday we started packing for Cooperstown which we a leaving for tomorrow. In the evening we headed to the Campground to visit with Eddie's relatives who were up visiting from VT. Here are some pictures of this past weekend.

A Great 4th in the OOB

We spent the 4th of July weekend at the campground in Old Orchard Beach so we were able to see our families. We spent a lot of time at the beach and visiting with everyone. It was great. On Friday we got up and headed into Ocean Park which is right down the street from the campground for the annual 4th of July Parade. Alison just sat there in amazement watching all the people and parade vehicles. After the parade we headed to the beach for a bit and then back to the campground for a nap. After nap we headed to the Milne's Cottage for some dinner, and tea and then to the beach for some late night fireworks or "Fireferks" as Alison would call them. We were a little worried about how she would do with the noise and the fact that they didn't start until 9:30, but she did really great. The noise didn't seem to bother her a bit. She actually fell asleep in the middle of them and slept right through the grand finale. She did wake up just as we came off the beach for a second to lift her head and say "bye fireferks, see you later" and then went right back to sleep. It was really funny. That is all she talk about the next day. Saturday my mom, Anna and myself went for our spa day and then out to lunch. We do this every year as a present to my mom for mother's day. It was great to spend some time with them. Later we headed to the milne's for dinner and then to back to the campground for a campfire at the Smith's. Here are some pictures of our fun weekend.
All dressed up in her festive attire.

All excited ready to go to the parade

This as much of a smile as we got. The rest of the time was spent with a amazed look on her face.

But she was all smiles when we got to the beach.

Alison loved being buried in the sand. and loved burying us in the sand too.

All cleaned up after the beach ready to go to dinner at the cottage.

Strawberries, Biking, Shopping and the OOB. Fun, fun and more fun!

Sorry it's been a couple of weeks since I blogged last. Our summer is in full swing and things are really busy around here. But I'll fill you in on the fun we have been having. The weekend of the 20-22 we stayed around Waterboro for most a of the weekend. Saturday we went strawberry picking at Dole's Orchard with The Stevens'. We met Kate and Julie at Alison's swimming lessons at St Joe's and they ended up living right near us. We have been wanting to get together with them for a while now but our weekends always fill up so quick so last weekend we where both free so took advantage of the beautiful day and headed to the farm. Here are some pictures.

Sunday we headed into Portland and purchased Alison a Bike trailer. We have been wanting to get one of those for a while now and with the warm weather here we did. Finding a helmet that fit Alison was a little bit of a challenge but after a few store we finally found one and headed back home. However by the time we got home is was pouring rain so all that and we couldn't even use it. what a bummer. We where finally able to get everything hooked up and go for a ride on Tuesday. Alison wasn't a huge fan at first but once we allowed here to bring her "babies" with her and if I rode right next to her she had a blast.
All smiles in her new bike trailer

"Baby" and "Harmony" had fun too

Some swing time with some of her buddies after our bike ride.

Thursday my Mom, Jim and Anna arrived in Old Orchard Beach (OOB) to start their vacation. So me and Alison spent the weekend with them while Eddie headed to PenYan NY for the wedding of his old college friend and to see a bunch of other college friends. We are going to be making that trip again in Sept. for another wedding so me and Alison decided not to make the trip this time, Which gave Eddie some time to catch up with his buddies that he hasn't seen in years, some as long as 9 years. Unfortanately back in Maine we didn't have the greatest weather. It rained Friday and Saturday so we had dinner at the Milne cottage (this is my stepfather's cousin, Debbie (who I call Aunt Debbie) her husband Chris, and their children Vanessa, Andrew and Max. We have been visiting this cottage every year since I was young. It used to belong to Aunt Debbie's parents Uncle Marcel and Aunt Barbara. Just a little history for you.) On Saturday went to Kittery to do some outlet shopping and on Sunday it started out kind of gloomy so we shopped in the morning but by the afternoon it was so nice we headed to the beach. Alison absolutely loved the beach, she had sand on every inch of her body and didn't mind a bit. The water was also a big hit she didn't mind the cold water at all. Me and Alison only stayed for a couple of hours and then headed back to the campground to see Eddie and Matthew and Brianna who came up to spend a few day with Eddie's parents. The kids had a bunch of fun at the playground. Here are some pictures.Alison at Camp Ellis
