Busy, Busy, Busy

I'll just start by saying we are usually really busy both at work and at home these next few months, so I may not be blogging every week like I had planned on doing. But I will keep you posted on our activities as find time.

The weekend of the 17th we had a weekend full of work around the house, side work, a baseball game and a fun "Kids Day" at the playground in Westbrook. Kids Day was an event that they had at a playground in Westbrook, which had vendors public service organizations, crafts, and free food, it was fun but the activities that had were more geared toward older kids, so we spent most of our time playing on the great playground, and feeding the ducks (which I found out this is not good to do from our EnviroFriend Sarah, Opps!) Alison had a blast! We where also able to plant our annual flowers and top dress and seed our lawn (or should I say dirt). The bugs are crazy at our house though, it is awful. I think I either got bit by something or I'm allergic to the seed or something cause Sunday night after doing all the yard work we came in and my top lip swelled up to about 3 times it's normal size. It actually felt like it was going to explode. It was crazy, it did the same thing last year after doing the same activities. But after taking benadryl the swelling finally came down but the drugs knocked me out, wow that stuff is powerful. So after taking a nap on the chair or I should say after laying on the chair trying to take a nap but having Alison poking and crawling all over me saying Mommy wake up Mommy wake up, Eddie had a meeting to go to so I was on my own with her, I was afraid I would fall asleep so I had to stand the whole time he was gone. Lucky it was only a couple of hours before her bedtime. Here are some pictures taken this weekend, The one with her under the stool is her pretending the belt is a snake. That is her new thing these days. She'll run around the house chasing you saying "nake" and trys to touch you with it. It's really funny. She's also into dressing up as you will see in a couple of the pictures.

This past weekend (Memorial Day weekend) we another fun filled LONG weekend. Friday daycare was closed so we had Grammie "gammie" Smith come over and play with Alison. They had a blast going the the playground and playing outdoors. Alison could and usually does spend most of the day outside these days. She throws a fit when we have to come in. Which is great and is going to be a lot of fun this summer. Saturday we went to Sanford and enjoyed Eddie's baseball game, Which alsion provides great entertainment for all the other parents by calling and pointing for Daddy, and yelling "my daddy cochin" over and over and over. It's pretty funny but kind of distracting for Eddie, so we went for a walk on a nice trail right near the field. After the game we headed back to the Campground to spend some time with "gammie and gampa" and have a yummy grilled dinner and a nice walk around the park. Sunday I spent the am doing side work and then headed into westbrook to have some lunch and playtime at the playground. Alison once again had a blast. We then headed back to the boro and took Milo swimming in the lake, which alison thinks is so great and loves trowing the stick for Milo to fetch. She has been really interested to see the water these last few weeks, especially when we are driving she like to see the water out the window. Lucky we live by a lot of lakes, rivers and the ocean. We also had some fun while Eddie was grilling dinner with Alison's car. She loves going as fast as she can. Monday we hung-out with the Plummers, we met up with them at the Maine Wildlife Park, which is a park that has all Maine animals, like Moose, Bear, Mountain Lions, Deer, Bobcats etc. It was a lot of fun. It's so neat to see Alison and Payson together, they get along so well. And we got to witness one of the cutest things. Alison and Payson were just walking around when all of a sudden Alison came over to Payson and said "I need a hug" and proceeded toward Payson and gave and recieved a big hug. They continued to do this few more times that day, it was so darn cute. After walking around there for a while we headed to the cars to have the girls take naps on the way to freeport. Needless to say niether of the girls had a very long nap, But we headed into Friendly's for some lunch anyway. Alison was acting like she was pretty tired but after lunch we decided to try to make the trip up the road to Wolfe Neck Farm to see the animals. This ended up not being such a good idea for us. Alison was not a happy camper so we headed back home. She slept the whole way home which was about hour and a half and when we got inside she felt warm, so of course to end a great long weekend Alison has a 103.6 fever, Lovely! So she continued to have a fever through the night waking up at 12:30am with fever of 104. But she was not acting like she usually does when she's sick, when she woke up at 12:30 she was wide awake and calm, After taking her temp. she looked at me and said "poop" so I said "do you have to poop on the toilet?" and she responded with "I poop on toilet" so off we went at 12:30am to the bathroom, she sat there for a few minutes "tooting" and then said "all done" so back on with the diaper and off to the bedroom. As I sat down to rock her, she looked up at me and said "bed" so I laid her in her bed and rubbed her tummy and off she went. It was so wierd, but kind of cool too. She continued to have a little bit of a fever on Tuesday so we kept her home Tuesday and Wednesday from Daycare and she played with Grammie. They seemed to have lots of fun. Today she seemed back to her normal self so we'll see. I sure am sick of these fevers, colds, and infections. She has had her fair share of them this weekend. Here are some pictures of our weekend

Happy Mom's Day

This past week was great my mom came in on Wednesday to visit and was here until today. It was the first mother's day we have gotten to spend together in 8 years so it was really nice to do that. Alison had a great time with her too! She has been a lucky girl this past couple of weeks, getting to see both "Gamie's" and "Gampa", since Eddie's parents are back in Maine for the summer. This Saturday my mom, me and Alison went to Wolfe Neck Farm to see the animals and walk around the farm, as we where on our way, I called the Plummer's for directions and found out they had the same plan, so we got to see them and Sarah's mom at the farm as well. Alison was a little nervous around the lambs, but really liked the goats, she especially liked petting the baby goats, and feeding the big goats a "teet" which is treat in Ali language, which was just bread that one of the little farm hands gave us. After see the animals Aliosn just wanted to pick dandelions. It was great time. After the farm we went into Freeport for lunch and to walk around for a little while until Alison was ready for her nap.

Then we headed back to the Boro with a stop at the Christmas Tree Shop on the way through of course. Once in the Boro we met up with Eddie, who was at his baseball game earlier that day, for a little time at the playground. She is loving our playground now. It's really a great playground for her age. It's so much fun to watch her enjoying her self too, she would stay there all day if she could.

On Sunday (Mother's Day) we headed into Portland (the Old Port) to meet up with Eddie's Parents and walk around town and go in some shops, it was a beautiful day. After our walk around town we headed to RiRa's (an Irish restuarant/pub on the water front) for dinner, with everyone. When we first got there our table wasn't ready yet so to keep Alison busy we walked up and down the stairs and she completely amazed me. As we walk up and down stairs we (usually just me) count each stair and so as we where headed down I would start 1, 2, 3, 4, and she just picked up counting by her self 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. I couldn't believe it, so as we went back up I started and she counted the whole way by herself, from 1-9. So I went and got Eddie and told him what she did and of course she wouldn't do 1-9 but she consistently did 5-9 it was amazing. After the stairs we got seated and for dinner and Alison turned into a little animal, throwing fits and screaming it was great! luckily it only lasted a few minutes and once I brought some food out for her to snack on she was fine. I think she was just really hungry, because once our meal came I couldn't cut her ham quick enough. Although I think she might be going through a growth spurt too because she was eating like crazy all weekend. She is a good eater normally but these last few days has been crazy, I don't know how she can fit that much food in her body. But anyways, it was great to have dinner with everyone, and especially on Mother's Day.

Overall, it's been a busy but great couple of weeks. And Alison continues to amaze us everyday. It's going to be a great summer!

Alison and Her New Wagon

Eddie's parents are back from Florida, where they spend their winters. They stayed with us for a few days before the campground opens and It was great to see them again after such a long winter. As a gift to Alison they had a man in their park in Florida make a beautiful wagon. It's all hand made and it's exactly what we wanted for her, and she loves it. It's in our living room right now and she climbs into every night for a ride around the house. Here a cute picture of her and her wagon (yeap it's a John Deere).
